Welcome Aboard!
The Wrong Tern is a 2005 Grady White 257 Advance center console, powered by twin Yamaha 150 HP 4-stroke outboards for a comfortable, quiet ride. At 25 feet with an 8'6" beam, there's plenty of seating and fishing room.
The wrong tern is equiped with a Garmin 182C GPS chart plotter, Si-Tex CVS-106L fishfinder, Standard Horizon GX1255S VHF radio, live well, insulated fish box, an onboard head, and fresh and saltwater washdown.
Wrong Tern knows the right places!
From Sandy Hook and Barnegat Inlet to Barnegat Bay and the Manasquan River, we do our best to put you on the fish. And with our personal attention and instruction, you'll be putting those fish in the boat in no time.
In Spring, we ring in the season with Winter Flounder. During the Summer months, we focus mainly on Bluefish, Weakfish, Fluke, and Sea Bass. Autumn is Striped Bass time. But we do offer specialty trips which can be quite productive. Of course, if you have something particular in mind, don't hesitate to ask!
Specialty Trips
* INSHORE TROLLING FOR BONITO, FALSE ALBACORE & SPANISH MACKEREL:
Mid-July thru September. Our specialty! Fast-paced action with hard- fighting gamefish. Very little competition - Most folks don't even know these fish are here!
* INSHORE DRIFT-FISHING FOR WEAKFISH & CROAKERS:
Late August thru October. These trips put a lot of fish in the box and produce bonus catches of fluke, sea bass, bluefish and occasionally striped bass.
* BARNEGAT BAY WEAKFISH, STRIPED BASS & BLUEFISH:
May thru early July. Light tackle spinfishing in calm, sheltered waters. We use artificials and/or live bait. In May, the Bay gives up some truly huge weakfish.
For either ocean or Manasquan River fishing, we leave from Point Pleasant, NJ, and for Barnegat Bay fishing, we leave from Beachwood, NJ.
Call us today for more details. Wrong Tern strives to make your trip a memorable one.
