Description:
|
The wire grass is ideal hiding cover for quail but short enough to watch pointing dogs quartering back and forth in search of coveys and singles. The food and cover are diversified for top native quail production. In addition, flight and weather-conditioned quail are stocked from October into March to maintain coveys and assure hunters of plenty of points and shooting
The hunting is from specially modified jeeps with high rear seats so the hunters can easily see and enjoy the dog work. A guide, who is also an expert dog handler, goes with each party. He usually puts down a brace of pointing dogs-English pointers or setters-and slowly cruises the woods as the dogs quarter back and forth through the pines.
