Description:
|
We have experienced guides , comfortable camps, exceptional food and home raised horses and mules that are matched to our guest’s size and ability.
We typically run two archery hunts and three gun hunts. The archery hunts run from early September through the first week of October. The gun season begins the third weekend of October and ends the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We chose our southwestern Montana hunting area in the early 1970’s for the number of elk, the high percentage of trophy bulls, plenty of Whitetail and Mule Deer, Mountain Goat and Moose, the lack of hunting pressure, and the area’s suitability for horse and foot hunting. It was good back then, and it keeps getting better. This area of the Beaverhead National Forest is large and difficult to access without horses and is home to a large, local elk herd. Rolling, timbered mountains and scattered meadows provide the habitat and the security necessary to produce the big bulls this area is known for. Our main camp is about an 8-mile pack in through prime elk country. It is far enough to get away from other hunters but not so far as to be an expedition in itself.
