Ross Hammock Ranch (RHR) is recognized as the premiere location in the SE United States where sportsmen may partake of guided hunting, guided fishing, and/or photo safaris. RHR is located on Florida's Nature Coast, just 90 minutes north of Tampa Airport and less than 2 hours from the Orlando Airport. This privately owned ranch is open year round and has 13 miles of border. The ranch is next to the sprawling salt water flast of the Gulf Of Mexico and the 5,000 acre fresh water Lake Rosseau.
There is something to put a smile on everyone's face at RHR. Exciting year round guided hunting for native or exotic game. Guided fresh or salt water fishing. And terrific photography, site seeing, golfing, nearby health spas, and local communities of interest to visit, like Cedar Key for the non hunter or fisherman to enjoy. You can come by yourself, or bring your hunting buddies, your spouse, and/or kids. The facilities are second to none. The main Cypress Log lodge has a movie theatre, sports bar, billiards room, etc.... It is immaculate clean and full of wildlife art, trophy mounts, and antiques. The ladies love it. The ranch also has a rifle range, 3D Archery, screened in cleaning room with 3 electric lifts, 2 walk in coolers for ageing game meat, on site butcher shop and services, and on site taxidermy services.
Hunters at RHR may use the weapon of their choice - pistol, archery, rifle, shotgun, muzzle loader, etc... The ranch actually specializes in Bow Hunting and many top manufacturers like Scentlok, Mathews, Muzzy, Bear, etc... all hunt with us. The RHR guides average over 20 years of experience, so veteran hunters or the novice are welcome. The ranch is 50% hardwood hammock and 50% uplands, with pine forest, food plots, feeders, and cut overs. Hunting is done via tree stands, ground blinds, and spot and stalk on the over 25+ miles of internal logging roads. Bay dogs are also available on request for trophy boar. All meals, snacks, soft drinks. lodging, licenses, guide, cook, maid services, hunt vehicles, tree stands, field care of game, etc... are provided to you by RHR.
The RHR land was purchased by Harold R. Ross approximately 15 years ago and first opened to the public in the Year 2000. Harold Ross is an accomplished bow hunter and has been hunting Africa, Alaska, Canada, New Foundland, and the US for over 40 years. The concept behind RHR, as well as the day to day operations, are always done with a hunters mentality in mind. You can call Harold Ross directly at 352 447 0296 to talk hunting and/or your trip to RHR.
