HISTORY AND PHILOSOPHY
ALL ABOUT TRAVEL, INC.
HISTORY:
On July 17, 1980, All About Travel, Inc. opened its doors in Beaverton, Oregon. Established by Gerry Mayes as a corporate and leisure travel company, Gerry soon recognized that the Portland region was not adequately represented and a need existed for tour operators located in the Northwest to serve the travelers from Oregon and Washington. Buddy Mayes, with 25 years of airline experience, 15 of those in the Northwest working with local agents, understood the needs of the area and met the challenge of negotiating airline contracts, putting together land packages, and successfully filling an industry void. Their endeavors have proved an overwhelming success.
OVER TWENTY YEARS OF GROWTH:
Northwest Airlines gave All About Travel, Inc. our first contract for service to Hawaii. Next came an agreement with Hawaiian Airlines and in 1985 our Reno/Lake Tahoe program began with PSA and Sun World Airlines. The company grew. We added American Airlines to the program, and shortly thereafter we entered the Disneyland market using Alaska Airlines. All About Travel, Inc. again expanded in 1988 by including Las Vegas to our Nevada markets.
On October 19, 1991, our offices moved to our current location in Tigard, Oregon. Our new larger location is technologically superior in all areas. We employ the latest automatic call distributor that provides the best possible customer service and reservation staff communication techniques available in the industry.
What began as the dream of two spirited individuals is now a team of over 150 employees in five states, backed by a network of suppliers spanning the American west, Hawaii and the South Pacific.
Expansion of 4,000 square feet of new office space was completed in December of 1998 making way for the additional of new reservation personnel.
PHILOSOPHY:
All About Travel, Inc. also doing business as All About Tours, All About Hawaii, All About Nevada, All About California, and All About South Pacific has continued to grow because of the simple and sincere philosophy of service and flexibility. The pioneering spirit that made us what we are today is still very much alive, and this, together with the esprit de corp of our employees, is the winning combination behind ALL ABOUT TRAVEL, INC.
